Oocyte Perfusion Chamber OPC

Expression of recombinant receptors in oocytes have been one of the favorite choices for researchers to assess the pharmacology and physiology of receptors. Since the oocytes are 1 - 1.5 mm in diameter, however, the fast solution exchange around the oocyte can be a problem. After several years of electrophysiological research, we have designed a Xenopus oocyte perfusion chamber for use in automated experiments. One of the major characteristic of the chamber presented is a small working volume (~10 μl), which allows  faster solution exchanges. Combined with perfusion systems, this chamber lets you to obtained dose-response data fast and easily. It can be used with Oocyte Voltage Clamp amplifiers, which employ one or two electrodes bath clamp. Chambers with replaceable 24x24mm glass bottom are designed to perform imaging using inverted microscopes. The chambers can be used with perfusion manifolds. The incorporated suction tubing requires connection to an outflow unit  to remove solution during perfusion. Improved design makes using the chamber easier: the replaceable chamber is fixed inside a microscope stage adapter using flat springs. Improved profile of the suction tubing provides smooth solution flow. Comes with Allen wrench.  Click on image to enlarge.

Oocyte Perfusion Chamber on Magnetic Stands. This modification of OPC3 chamber allows to position oocytes directly on a bench using three miniature magnetic stands. The microscope free configuration isolates the oocytes from vibrations, which could be transmitted through microscope. Inexpensive dissecting microscopes on a swing arm could be employed in the set-up. If you do not have steel magnetic surface, choose slider-plate option, which allows to bolt three adjustable plates to any surface with wholes, or consider steel plate bellow. PTFE manifold is optional.
